Don’t Lose Your Way Researcher (Bradford)

In early 2020, thousands of people joined the search for lost paths as part of the Don’t Lose Your Way project. The project aims to support individuals in identifying lost rights of way, and later putting together applications for these to be recognised on the official ‘Definitive Maps’.

The role of DLYW researcher is for those who are keen to engage in the deskwork involved in making these applications. DLYW researchers will have access to a library of guidance and resources, which will develop over time, and use these to work on applications.

The approach taken by researchers will vary in different parts of the project area and will be guided by a local coordinator. Taking on this role within Don’t Lose Your Way will require confidence using online systems to gather, interpret, and share information. It will also require some initiative – while training and guidance will be available, the subject matter is complex and researchers will be expected to guide themselves to the support they need.
